Business Owners Policy
A BOP: three coverages, one policy, one bill.
Liability, property, and business interruption — bundled for small businesses at a discount.
What's inside a BOP
- General liability
- Commercial property
- Business interruption
- Equipment breakdown (often)
- Employee dishonesty (limited)
- Data breach (small sublimit)
What's the difference between a BOP and GL?
GL is general liability only. A BOP bundles GL with commercial property, business interruption, and often equipment breakdown — usually cheaper than buying them separately.
Who qualifies for a BOP?
Most small-to-mid businesses under 100 employees and under a few million in revenue. Some higher-risk classes (heavy manufacturing, some contractors) don't qualify and need monoline policies.
